In my critical analysis paper, I elaborated on the topic that I choose in the exploratory essay, which was gun control. In this paper I argued that gun control is one of the least effective methods that are being implemented to combat mass shooting incidents. There are a total of 8 course learning outcomes that I should cover by the end of this course. In this paper I’ve used course learning number 7 which is Compose texts that integrate your stance with appropriate sources using strategies such as summary, critical analysis, interpretation, synthesis, and argumentation. In this paper I used source and evidence to argue that there are far more dangerous things contributing to mass shooting other than guns that are being overlooked or not getting the attention they deserve. The evidence that I used I had to interpret ii and connect it to my thesis to strengthen my claim. Another course learning that I’ve used in this paper is Develop strategies for reading, drafting, collaborating, revising, and editing. before submitting the final version if the paper many revisions were done to the first draft and before the first draft, I had to make an outline to organize my ideas and build the paper. Another one that was used is Understand and use print and digital technologies to address a range of audiences, this paper was typed out and written in MLA format which had to be done electronically, also a visual was used as evidence to also present the ideas. Also the course leaning outcome Practice systematic application of citation conventions, was heavily used in this paper since it was the supporting evidence for the claims I presented in the paper, citations were very important in this essay and I had to practice using and finding appropriate evidence to use.
